Chutney & Cards take 2

Since I was up early (again) today, I cracked on with another batch of chutney - this one I have my doubts about since the apple seems to have broken down too much by the end of cooking, and I fear it may be 'fuzzy' in texture. Also put chilli flakes in this one, which I don't normally use. We'll see....

AND I made French Yoghurt Cake as in Hilary's blog (not tasted it yet) & Nigella's choc birthday cake for my Mum for tomorrow - I have to do the ganache tomorrow so here's hoping it won't resemble chocolate cat sick like the last one I did ha ha.

I made one of those box thingys - you know the ones, where the ends kind of flap down and you get a neat sort of oval-ish parcel. This involved lots of swear words and several bits of paper since I had no template nor idea of what I was doing. Still, I am happy with the finished thing: I used a piece of the Once Upon A Time stack, and the finished article will house Mum's pressie for tomorrow:

Yes, I see what you mean - I think my loaf tin is definitely skinnier than yours. I hope it still tastes good!

Tip for chocolate chopping. Do a bit at a time with a BIG KNIFE. Break it up a bit first, then do the chopping action with the big knife. Works for me :)
Chutney looks good to me - Oh by the way, my word verification was "fackin". Thought you might like to know!
